The Llys Nini Animal Centre is located on the former Llys Nini farm in Penllergaer, Swansea.
The site is approximately 78 acres in size. It was purchased by the now Llys Nini Branch of the RSPCA in 1996 and converted into a purpose-designed animal rehabilitation centre which opened in April 1997.
It includes an administration block (with an education room), animal treatment areas, accommodation for 57 dogs and 72 cats as well as a miscellaneous animals block which can house all sorts of animals including seals and other wildlife.

The Cattery provides interior and exterior space for each cat. Cats are usually housed individually. An isolation area provides quite respite space for new mothers and sick cats.

Cats ready for rehoming are on view in the main part of the block. Staff are always on hand to give advise and answer questions. Cats needing a new home can be seen on the animal pages.
There are 3 separate kennel blocks. A, B and C plus 2 sets of large exercise pens, a very large run and exercise paddock.
Each kennel has an inside and outside space. At night the dogs are locked inside their kennel where they stay warm and can sleep in a special bed area.
The dogs can be seen from the outside of the blocks but only staff and specially trained volunteers are allowed inside. Dogs needing a new home can be seen on the animal pages.

The Miscellaneous Block (also known as D Block) provides accommodation for a variety of different sorts of animals, seals, rabbits, ferrets, birds, small mammals, wildlife and in an emergency even farm animals, reptiles, amphibians and insects and spiders.
Rabbits, ferrets, birds and other small animals needing a new home can be viewed on the animal pages.
This block houses the reception and shop, offices, treatment areas and our meeting/education room. We ask all visitors, on arrival, to come to reception to sign them in and then sign out so that we know, for safety reasons, who is on site.
The shop carries a variety of pet products and specialist foods. If we don't have something in stock, we are happy to order it for you. All the profit from our shop goes directly back to the Animal Centre to help to care for the animals.
During the summer months, Llys Nini is home to RSPCA Cymru rescued ponies. For more information on rehoming one of these ponies or another RSPCA rescue equine go to RSPCA Equine Rehoming
We are currently constructing a number of trails and walks throughout the grounds. We welcome to visit during opening hours and explore our 78 acres. There is a leaflet, of the trails and points of interest available at Reception.
