Meet our gorgeous girl, Misty.
Misty is a lovely senior-kitizen who is looking for a loving retirement home.
She is a quiet lady who likes her own space to snooze and relax.
Misty came into the centre as she was found as a stray tangled in barbed wire.
An RSPCA officer cut her free and the rest of the wire was removed by the vets.
She recovered very well from this, Misty then had some bloods taken which showed she has renal disease (stage 2).
MISTY IS CURRENTLY IN A FOSTER HOME, ENJOYING HER RETIREMENT.
MEDICAL INFORMATION
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is the most common type of kidney (renal) disease and refers to gradual onset, long term disease of the kidneys. This damage usually due to the natural aging process and is often seen in cats over seven years of age. Sadly, the condition is not reversible and will deteriorate over time. Misty is also on some medication for her blood pressure and because she’s a little stiff on her legs at times.
Medication/Diet :
Food – Royal Canin Renal wet and dry food – Purchased online or via your vet
Kidney Disease – Semintra Oral Solution
Blood Pressure – Amodip 1.25mg
Arthritic Pain – Gabapentin Oral
On average she will costs around £25-£30 a month – excluding vet costs.
She will need blood pressure and urine checks every 3 or so months.
If you are interested in adopting Misty, please contact the centre as we may be able to help with some medication costs.
We would suggest you also contact your vets, to talk about what they can offer you.
Misty would prefer to be the only animal in the household and with no children.
When you adopt a senior cat, you’re truly saving a life
